Why Go&Move Period Panties Have a Purple Absorbent Area: A Story of Co-Creation

At Go&Move, we believe in creating products that truly meet the needs of our customers. One of the most distinctive features of our period panties is the purple absorbent area. But did you know it wasn’t always purple? In fact, when we first launched, the absorbent section was black, just like most period underwear on the market.

So why the change?

Listening to Our Customers

When we introduced our period panties, many customers loved the comfort and protection they provided. However, we received valuable feedback from some users who found it difficult to monitor their flow with a black absorbent area. They expressed frustration about not being able to clearly see how much blood had been absorbed, which made it harder to track their menstrual health.

This feedback got us thinking—how could we improve the design to offer better visibility while still maintaining discretion?

A Personal Experience That Changed Everything

Our co-founder Fiona had a similar experience that solidified the need for change. While she was pregnant, Fiona continued to wear Go&Move period panties. One day, she almost missed the early signs of spotting (known as "bloody show") due to the black absorbent area. It was a critical moment that highlighted the importance of being able to clearly see any discharge or blood.

Her experience, combined with the feedback from our customers, inspired our team to rethink the design of the absorbent area. We wanted to create something that balanced the need for visibility with comfort and aesthetic considerations.

The Evolution: From Black to Purple

After careful consideration and testing, we decided to switch the absorbent area to purple. The choice of color wasn’t random—purple offers a perfect middle ground. It’s dark enough to hide stains for those who don’t want to see their menstrual blood too vividly, but light enough to allow users to easily monitor their flow and discharge. This thoughtful change addresses both practical concerns and personal preferences.

Co-Creation at the Core of Go&Move

This design change is a testament to Go&Move’s commitment to co-creating with our customers. We’re always listening, learning, and evolving based on real feedback from the people who use our products. By incorporating customer insights and personal experiences, we’re able to create period panties that not only protect but also empower users to feel in control of their bodies.

Why Purple Matters

The purple absorbent area represents more than just a functional improvement—it’s a symbol of Go&Move’s dedication to comfort, innovation, and customer collaboration. We believe that period products should make life easier, not more complicated. The ability to see your flow without discomfort is just one of the ways we strive to support our customers in feeling confident and in control.

At Go&Move, we’re not just creating products; we’re building solutions that fit seamlessly into your life—because when it comes to your body, you should always have the best tools to move forward with confidence.
